2018 Toyota Rush Revealed — Has All The DNA To Rival The Hyundai Creta & Renault Captur
2018 Toyota Rush Revealed in images.
Presently, all compact SUVs in India offer a 5-seater layout, and there isn't one with a comfortable 7-seater arrangement. While the Hyundai Creta offers a robust engine and premium features, the Renault Captur provides premium features and is one of the best-looking SUV in the Indian market.
Toyota has recently revealed the second-generation Rush SUV for the Indonesian market and is a true-blue SUV with a 7-seater configuration. The 2018 Toyota Rush looks like an SUV with a combination of a utility vehicle (UV).
On the design front, the new Toyota Rush sports an Innova-like front grille with four chrome slats, LED headlights and LED DRLs similar to those seen on the India-spec Honda CR-V.
The SUV's front bumper is chunky with dedicated rectangular housing for the circular fog lamps. The Rush stands tall with a ground clearance of 220mm, finishing off the exterior look of the SUV.

The model showcased is the TRD Sportivo spec version of the Rush SUV. The top-trim TRD Sportivo comes with badges, side-body plastic cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels on the outside and gets soft-touch materials in the dual-tone cabin.
The new Toyota Rush SUV features keyless entry, push-button start and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (reverse parking camera incorporated), which is compatible with USB, radio, CD player and smartphone connectivity through Miracast and Weblink.
On the safety front, the Toyota Rush comes with six-airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, and hill start assist.
As for the engine specifications, the 2018 Toyota Rush is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 104bhp and 140Nm of torque. The engine is married either to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Toyota will begin sales of the new Rush SUV in Indonesia from January 2018, and there is no official confirmation if it will be introduced in India. That said, the Rush SUV seems to be an excellent competitor to the Hyundai Creta and the newly launched Renault Captur with its premium features and the USP of 7-seater configuration.
