2018 Audi A8 Teaser Features Traffic Jam Pilot
Audi has teased the fourth-generation A8 in a video featuring the traffic jam pilot.
The Audi A8 will get an heir in less than a month's time at an event in Barcelona, Spain. To promote the features of the new A8, Audi released a second video teaser of the full-size sedan.
In the video teaser of the A8, it showcases the benefits of Audi traffic jam pilot; it features a father and son trying not to be bored in a traffic jam.
The Audi traffic jam pilot allows the A8 to accelerate, brake, and steer on its own in slow-moving traffic on the highway at speeds of up to 60km/h.
Audi proposes that "drivers can take their hands off the steering wheel and permanently devote themselves" to whatever they like.
But that's not the only feature of the new A8, at the start of June 2017, Audi had confirmed that 48V mild hybridization comes as standard. A small lithium-ion battery and a water-cooled 48V belt alternator starter (BAS) power the Audi A8 and the full-size sedan can coast at speeds of up to 160km/h.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The traffic jam pilot feature on the new Audi A8 will indeed reduce the stress levels while driving in a bottleneck. The Audi A8 will set the benchmark for its predecessors and probably lead the way for autonomous features in all future Audis.
