New-Generation Toyota Yaris Launched In Japan
Toyota has launched the 2017 Yaris in its home market Japan. The automaker has also introduced the hybrid variant of the premium hatchback.
Japanese car manufacturer Toyota has launched the 2017 Yaris in the Japanese market. The car is renamed as Vitz in Toyota's domestic market.
The front fascia of the 2017 Yaris has been revamped to give it a refreshed look. It gets a large black front grille which extends all the way up to the nose and adds to the aggressive appeal of the car.
Other than that, the front end of the car features dual-beam LED headlamps and revamped fog lamps. The car also gets ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, alloy wheels and sharp lines for the bold look.
The rear of the car sports redesigned horizontal LED tail lamps, the bumper of the car also gets a new design to match the bold looks of the car.
Although the interior of the 2017 Yaris has not received much of an update. The seats and the upholstery have been updated to give it a premium touch.
Apart from that the interior features multifunction steering wheel, digital MID instrument cluster, silver detailing on the dashboard and new colour theme.
The 2017 Yaris will be powered by the existing 1-litre three-cylinder engine and 1.3-litre four cylinder engine. Whereas the top of the line model will be powered by 1.5-litre petrol engine coupled with an electric motor. The hybrid variant produces 99bhp of power.
It is expected that the new-generation Yaris will hit the Indian shores in early 2018. When launched in India the Yaris will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20.
