South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has revealed the 2017 i30 Wagon ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The i30 Wagon is the estate version of Hyundai's five-door i30. With one of the most spacious cabins in its class the i30 Wagon beats its segment rivals such as Ford Focus Estate and Volkswagen Golf Estate.

The exterior design of the i30 Wagon features a slanting roof to create a coupé-like silhouette. The car's front fascia remains unchanged from its hatch sibling, but the rear is slightly extended with a different design.

The interior of the 2017 i30 Wagon is identical to the hatchback variant which features 5-inch or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility and optional wireless charging for smartphones and Bluetooth.

The 2017 i30 Wagon will be offered with four engine options. A 1-litre T-GDI three-cylinder engine and a 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine will power the petrol variants. The diesel variants will draw power from a 1.6-litre engine offered in three power bands.

Hyundai claims that the 2017 i30 Wagon comes with the most driver assist safety programmes in its class. It is equipped with the adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assist technology.

The other safety features on the i30 Wagon include rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection and Hyundai's first driver attention monitoring system, which alerts the driver to take a break if lane crossing is noticed.

The hatchback version of the i30 will go on sale from March 2017, and the Wagon model is expected to hit the global markets by late-2017.
