2017 Honda Mobilio Facelift Officially Revealed
The facelifted Mobilio MPV received major styling tweaks and additional safety features.
Honda had previously teased the facelifted Mobilio a few days back, now the carmaker has officially revealed the 2017 Mobilio facelift in Indonesia.
The new Mobilio has received a mid-life facelift and the majority of changes are on the front profile. Gone are the balloon shaped headlamps seen on the current model, the Mobilio facelift received a chunky and sleeker looking headlamps.
The redesigned headlamps getLED daytime running lights as well. On the front grille, a thick single slat chrome strip runs between the headlamps, similar to the City sedan with ‘H' badge prominently displayed at the centre.
Honda has redesigned the front bumper as well and the fog lamp housing is angular compared to the current Mobilio with chrome accents at the bottom.
Honda revealed the new Mobilio in Indonesia and the MPV is likely to carry the same petrol unit; however, it gets additional safety features such as Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).
The Mobilio receives its second update since its launch in 2014, India though received only the first model. Honda had launched a mild facelifted Mobilio for select international markets which included changes in interiors and dashboard similar to the Amaze and Brio.
Honda has not revealed plans of launching the facelifted Mobilio in India, although it might be able to dent sales of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The company sold 3,396 units of the Mobilio for the year ending November 2016, down from 16,380 units sold in the previous year.
Honda Mobilio's nearest competitors are Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Renault Lodgy. With just two models to compete in the Indian market, it is to be seen if Honda will bring the new Mobilio to the country.
