Zak Brown Takes Up The Role Of McLaren Executive Director
Zak Brown has taken up the role of Executive Director of McLaren Technology Group. Recently, Ron Dennis was forced to step down from his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at McLaren.
Ron Dennis was recently sacked from his role at McLaren. Now, Zak Brown has taken up the role of Executive Director of McLaren Technology Group. Brown was recently being rumoured on taking up a senior role with Liberty Media, F1 owners.
As of now, Ron Dennis will continue in his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer till January 2017. Zak Brown will then step in as Executive Director at McLaren Technology Group. He will be accompanied by Jonathan Neale as the Chief Operating Officer at McLaren Technology Group.
So far, Chief Executive Officer at McLaren Group of Technology has not been appointed. It is also unclear as to what role if any Ron Dennis would take up post January 2017. Zak Brown will have a huge task on his shoulder to develop and make their racing outfit profitable again.
Zak Brown has previously performed in the role as founder of Just Marketing International. He has been involved in several sponsorship deals between McLaren. Brown and McLaren have delivered sponsorship deals with GSK, Hilton, Lenovo, Chandon, NTT, and Johnnie Walker.
For 2017 Formula One Championship, McLaren-Honda has Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne to steer their development. The duo is expected to elevate McLaren-Honda's performance. Jenson Button will perform the role of test and development driver for the team.
