The World Rally Championship seals an all-new broadcast contract with Red Bull TV. The broadcaster will host live shows at every rally scheduled in 2017. The organisers are also taking a new step into online live broadcasting in partnership with Red Bull.
The online live broadcasting will stream three live shows from Friday to Sunday at every round of the 2017 WRC calendar. The show will start at the season-opener at Monte Carlo hosted by former Formula 1 driver and WEC champion Mark Webber.
The 2017 shows are described as 'feature all the action as it happens, including unique highlights round up'. The three live shows in the weekend will be available to watch for free on Red Bull TV, via laptop, smartphone or smart television, or on the Red Bull TV app.
Red Bull-backed athlete and nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb said, "It's really exciting to know that the WRC will be broadcast on Red Bull TV next year. So fans can have a chance to see the best coverage of some of the rallies when it suits them, which is really great.
"There's always this exciting feeling around Red Bull because they do things differently and I'm sure that this will be the case for the new TV programme as well."
The 2017 WRC season will be exciting as defending champion Sebastian Ogier signed with M-Sport Ford and his former teammate Jari-Matti Latvala joined at Toyota. The major change is the withdrawal of reigning champions Volkswagen Motorsport.
