Volvo XC90 R7 Set To Launch In India — Is This The Perfect Volvo For The Indian Family Unit?

Swedish carmaker Volvo has imported 10 more units of the XC90 R7 into India just a month after importing a single unit of the car for homologation purposes.

According to team-bhp, the import of the 10 units of the XC90 R7 variant suggest that Volvo is set to launch the sportier R-Design variant of its largest SUV in India in the near future.

Powering the new R7 will be the same 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that is present in other XC90 variants already on sale in India. However, in the R7, the engine uses compressed air to negate turbo lag and now produces 222bhp of power.

The new R7 will sport all the extra kit that Volvo adds on to give the R-Design lineup a more sporty look compared to the rest of its range. The XC90 R7 sports a gloss black front grille and a redesigned front bumper, matte silver ORVMs along with a bigger rear spoiler. The R7 also sits on larger 20-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheels.

On the Inside, the R7 is upholstered in Nappa leather with the seat headrest sporting the R-Design logo. The headliner is done up in a darker colour and there are carbon-fibre insert details on the centre console area.
