Volvo Unveils Sportier S90, V90 R-Design Variants

Swedish carmaker Volvo has revealed the sportier R-design variants of its S90 luxury sedan and V90 luxury estate.

Volvo has already opened up the order books for the new R-Design variants of both cars.

Both cars feature new aggressive body kits like the ones found on R-Design variants of the other vehicles in Volvo's lineup.

Up front the cars feature a new bespoke grille and a new bumper with integrated fog lamps and piano black trim on both front and rear.

Also new are the 5-spoke matt black diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside both cars get unique trim options along with a new steering wheel and sports seats. They also get a high-level interior illumination package.

Speaking about the new cars, Björn Annwall, Senior Vice President Marketing Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars said, "R-Design delivers an edge to our elegant estate and sedan models in our 90 Series, with a winning combination of a sportier, more responsive drive with clearly visible performance styling."

The Volvo S90 is expected to make its debut in India later this year and the new sedan will replace ageing S80 sedan. The new car will be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that does duty on the XC90.
