Volvo Lists S90 On India Website, Launch By 2016 End
The all-new Volvo S90 has been listed on the Volvo India website with the launch looking eminent by this year end.
The car, which is a progression from S80, will rival the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6.
Volvo has based the S90 on the new Scalable Product Architecture, which is used in the XC90. The sedan looks stunning with 'Thor' hammer designed LED DRL's which is synonymous with all of the new offerings from Volvo.
The sedan seems to capture the driver's delight with the centre console and dashboard aligned towards the driver. As for the safety of the car, Volvo is looking to impress upon the buyers with some amazing features.
Volvo claims to have the first in the world safety feature of run-off-road mitigation with steer assist technology operating at higher speeds. So, if you stray over a lane, the steering assist will put the car back on the lane.
Also, the sedan will have adaptive Cruise Control, Distance Alert and an animal detection feature, which offers "intuitive warning and braking support".
The Volvo S90 will sport semi-pilot assist with set speed and maintains distance with the vehicle in front of the car.
The Swedish Carmaker will offer the 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine, which will be pushed by two state of tunes - one producing 187bhp and 400Nm of torque and the powerful one will sport 231bhp and 480Nm of torque.
The sedan will be imported as CBU and is expected around the festive season and prices starting at Rs. 60 lakhs.
