Volvo Now Accepting Pre-Booking For S90 Premium Sedan In India

Volvo Auto India plans on offering all of its international products in the country as soon as possible. The Swedish-based automobile manufacturer has now commenced pre-booking of its premium sedan, the S90 across India.

The Volvo S90 premium sedan is developed on their new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) technology. The new S90 adopts Volvo future design philosophy, which will soon be seen on other models as well. Several design cues will be borrowed from the latest generation XC90 model.

Under the hood of Volvo S90 is an array of petrol, diesel, and hybrid engine options. Volvo officials confirm that the S90 will receive a sub 2.0-litre engine. This is most likely to attract luxury car buyers as the Indian Government is yet undecided over the ban on the sale of diesel models.

The Indian market is most likely to get the diesel engine in the S90 primarily. Volvo will follow it up with the launch of an optional petrol and plug-in hybrid engine options later on. The S90 is available for pre-booking and we expect it to be launched sometime during the festive season.

Once Volvo launches the S90 premium sedan in India, it will have to face tough competition. The S90 will go up against the Jaguar XJ, Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and even the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Expect pricing of new Volvo S90 to be in between Rs. 80 lakh to Rs. 90 lakh ex-showroom.
