oi-Rajkamal
By Rajkamal
Volkswagen, the German carmaker is planning to reduce working hours at its plant in Germany. This is the plant where the carmaker manufactures the Volkswagen Passat.
The reason why Volkswagen is planning to reduce working hours is due to supply problems by Sitech, Volkswagen's in-house seat manufacturer.
A Spokesperson for Volkswagen said that due to issues with seat supplies, around 3,000 employees will be affected initially for a period of 7 days, from August 18 to 24, 2016. The Volkswagen plant, situated in Emden, Germany has 9,000 employees.
The Volkswagen plant where the Passat is made, manufactures an average of 1,250 Volkswagen Passats a day.
