Volkswagen Previews 2017 Touareg With Beijing Bound SUV Concept
German carmaker Volkswagen is teasing a brand new concept SUV for the 2016 Beijing Motor Show later this month.
Volkswagen have remained rather quiet about the new SUV but the new concept does seem to point to the 2017 Volkswagen Touareg.
The new concept uses a plug-in electric hybrid powertrain to produce 381bhp and 700Nm of torque. When the concept is set to its fastest mode it can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 7 seconds and will go onwards to a top speed of 222km/h.
However in its most fuel-efficient mode the concept SUV can return a mileage of 32.2km/l. The SUV can also run on electric power alone for 80 kilometers.
The SUV concept's exterior design shows off angular healamps, sculpted sides and curved taillamps which feature some cool graphics.
Inside, VW have stated that the Beijing concept features a curved glass screen and heavily digitalised interior.
