VW Commences Teasing Its All-New Performance Hatchback For India
The Polo GTI by Volkswagen has now been teased in the Indian market via social media platforms. Volkswagen India is most likely to launch the Polo GTI in India sometime during mid-November.
Volkswagen India had showcased several models at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The vehicle that peaked most curiosity from driving enthusiasts was the Polo GTI. Now, Volkswagen India has commenced teasing the Polo GTI via social media platforms hinting at its launch.
Polo GTI will be launched in India sometime during mid-November 2016. Volkswagen India will introduce the Polo GTI as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Expect the latest model from VW India to bear a price tag in excess of Rs. 18 lakh ex-showroom.
Under the hood of VW Polo GTI will be a 1.8-litre TSI, turbocharged petrol engine. This engine will produce 189bhp, along with 250Nm of peak torque. Volkswagen will pair the engine to a 7-speed DSG transmission, the Polo GTI can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
Initially, Volkswagen India will only launch the Polo GTI in the 3-door avatar. Based on customers and enthusiasts response they could introduce the Polo GTI 5-door model at a later stage. So far, VW India has commenced testing the Polo GTI 3-door version in India.
