Volkswagen To Participate In The 2016 Make In India Week At Mumbai

Volkswagen will be participating in the 'Make in India Week', which is being organised in Mumbai. The event will be held at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex. The Make in India Week will be held from February 13 to 18, 2016.

At the Make in India Week, Volkswagen will be showcasing its Vento sedan. Also, on display will be the German manufacturer's very first compact sedan, the Ameo. Volkswagen will also be explaining its Dual Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme.

The Dual Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme, is a developed to provide young Indians with a platform to take on the manufacturing industry. It is a skill development centre by Volkswagen India. The German automaker wants to provide young as well as talented workforce.

Currently, Volkswagen has its manufacturing unit in Chakan, Pune. The German automobile manufacturer plans on investing over 795 million Euros on India operations. All-new Ameo compact sedan will be locally manufactured at the Chakan facility from the ground up.

Volkswagen is committed towards development of the country. As of now, Volkswagen India exports vehicles to over 35 markets. The German manufacturer plans on locally assembling and manufacturing several components with compromising its quality.
