Volkswagen America CEO Michael Horn Resigns
The President and CEO of Volkswagen America Michael Horn has resigned.
In a statement the Volkswagen group stated that Horn was leaving the company by mutual agreement "to pursue other opportunities effective immediately."
Horn's departure from Volkswagen comes at a time when the company is trying to negotiate a deal that will fix the polluting diesel vehicles which were found to be using emissions cheating software to bodge emissions test results.
However, a top dealer for Volkswagen in the US, Alan Brown has told the Associated Press that Horn was pushed out because he clashed with VW executives in Germany. One of the reasons for the clashes was the $1,000 worth of gift cards and vouchers that were offered to customers in the US who bought diesel powered VW vehicles.
