Volkswagen Ameo Compact Sedan Launched In India For Rs. 5.14 Lakh

Volkswagen's Ameo, the German carmaker's first compact sedan for India has been launched for Rs. 5.14 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai). The Volkswagen Ameo will be available across all Volkswagen dealerships from July onward, and customers can also pre book the sub-4 metre sedan through a mobile app.

Volkswagen Ameo Engine Specification & Gearbox

The Volkswagen Ameo is available with a petrol engine only. Powering the car is a 1.2-litre MPI petrol engine, the same unit that powers the Polo. The engine produces 74bhp and 110Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Volkswagen Ameo Features

The Ameo boasts itself as featuring some of the first in segment features. The Ameo comes with cruise control, rain sensing wipers, anti pinch windows, rear view camera with parking sensors, infotainment system with iPod connectivity, cooled glovebox, and rear AC vents.

The Ameo also gets a lot of other features like tilt and telescopic steering, alloy wheels, auto dimming IRVM, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, automatic AC, static cornering lights, and central locking.

Safety Features On The Volkswagen Ameo

Safety is also a key concern to sell a car in the modern world and the Ameo comes with standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and airbags for the driver and passenger. The Ameo also features lane change indicator and an electronic anti-theft immobilizer.
