Valentino Rossi is not sharing the tarmac with Marc Marquez or Jorge Lorenzo and it's not a world championship event either. But he will be competing against Dani Sordo, the epic duel that everyone wants to see at the Monza Rally Show 2016.
The first edition of the Monza Rally was in 1978 and since then it has become a popular motorsports event especially in Europe. For the event, champions from the rally and track racing, as well as stars of the entertainment world and other sports will fight against each other at Monza for glory.
The nine-time world champion on two wheels has four wins under his belt at the ‘Cathedral of Speed'. It was last year he scored his fourth win, but in the Master Show, he was defeated by Tony Cairoli.
Rossi is driving the Ford Fiesta WRC and his co-driver is Carlo Cassina. Speaking about Dani Sordo, the Spaniard knows Rossi well. Sordo has defeated the Italian in the 2013 edition.
Then, Sordo was behind the wheels of a Citroen DS3 WRC, while this time he is in a Hyundai i20 WRC. Two competitive drivers in two different cars will give the spectators a great show.
In addition to the two favourites, there are other talented drivers like World Motocross champion Cairoli competing with a Citroen DS3. Rossi's best friend and right hand, Uccio Salucci is also competing with a Ford Fiesta, while Davide Brivio, team manager Suzuki Ecstar, will be the co-driver of his brother Roberto Brivio in a Ford Fiesta.
