The year 2017 for Maruti Suzuki is exciting as well with the below list of upcoming cars from Maruti Suzuki in 2017.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis

Among the Maruti's car launches for 2017, the most awaited launch is the micro-SUV Ignis launch. The Ignis was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and has been the talk of the town. The Ignis will be the first launch from Maruti for 2017. The Ignis will be the entry-level crossover from Maruti and will be sold via its NEXA outlets.

The micro-SUV Ignis is compact, boxy and stylish. Maruti Suzuki is targeting the millennials who are born in the end of 1980s and early 1990s. The retro looking Ignis is acombination of attractive design, premium features, and power in a single package. The muscular-looking front bumper to the integrated headlights and LED daytime running lights with larger air intake and chrome garnish fog lamp housing. Along with the flared arches and the boxy shape, the Ignis will open new exciting segment along with the Mahindra KUV100 in the country.

The Ignis if powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol unit seen in current generation Swift and is capable of producing 84bhp and 115Nm of torque. Also, seen is the diesel model with 1.3-litre engine developing 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. The Ignis will be offered with the 5-speed manual and the AMT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched at the end of December 2015 and it went to become one of the best-selling cars from Maruti in 2016. The Baleno premium hatchback is being sold through Maruti's NEXA outlets along with the S-Cross.

The carmaker is all geared up to launch the performance oriented Baleno with RS badging. With the current trend towards performance-oriented cars, the Baleno RS launch in 2017 is exciting from the portfolio of cars from Maruti Suzuki. While the dimensions of the Baleno RS remains the same as the regular Baleno, it will sport revised bumper, front and side skirts, possible black themed interiors to add the sportyappeal of the Baleno RS.

The regular sibling of the Baleno RS is powered by the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel unit. The Baleno RS will be powered by the 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine churning out 109bhp and 170Nm of peak torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the AT variant could sport paddle shift as well.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (Petrol)

After the successful launch of the Vitara Brezza in diesel, Maruti will look to capitalise the success with the launch of the petrol model. The Brezza has clockedimpressive sales of 83,000 units and is the top selling SUV in the country currently.

As for the design of the Vitara Brezza petrol, it will be similar to the current diesel model of the Brezza. The Brezza is well proportioned in its design compared to some of the other sub-compact SUV in the Indian market. The Vitara Brezza features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, large air intake, the unique clamshell bonnet, faux skid plates, and the massive bumper adds to the SUV's appeal.

The petrol Vitara Brezza is expected to be offered with the 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine which produces 109bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. This will be mated with the 5-speed manual or the AMT gearbox.

2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire

The best-selling compact sedan in India will make way for the next-generation Swift DZire which is based on the new Swift platform. The new DZire has been spotted testing several times in India and is expected to be launched prior the new Swift hatchback.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new DZire is chiseled and sharper in design giving the compact sedan an aggressive stance. Just like the 2017 Swift, the DZire will borrow the design cues of the new Swift and will feature touchscreen infotainment system, dual-pod instrument cluster with digital MID, while the fabric on the interiors will be overhauled as well.

The power to the new Swift DZire is expected to be similar to the current model - the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel unit. The SHVS technology is expected to be featured in the diesel model of the new DZire. Both the manual and AMT gearbox will be offered in the next-generation DZire.

Current-Generation Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift

The Maruti Ciaz gained the biggest momentum in 2016 and was preferred over other established sedans in the country including the Honda City. The Ciaz sedan was launched in 2014 and the time has arrived for a much-needed facelift. With the impressive sales of the CIaz, the facelift will add additional character to the sedan.

Not much is known about the facelifted Ciaz; however, we expect cosmetic changes on the exterior and minor tweaks in the interiors. The specification is expected to be similar to the current model along with the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology. The facelifted Ciaz is expected with the SHVS technology in the petrol model and a possible 1.6-litre diesel unit.

The current model is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 91bhp and 130Nm of peak torque, while the diesel motor is a 1.3-litre unit combined with the SHVS technology develops 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. The petrol unit comes paired either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or the 4-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel unit is mated to the 5-speed gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Facelift

Another facelift on the cards is the S-Cross crossover vehicle being sold through the premium NEXA outlet. Suzuki unveiled the facelifted S-Cross earlier this year in Hungary and was then showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

The facelifted S-Cross from Suzuki sports an aggressive look with the new multiple vertical slats grille and loads of chrome detailing. The headlights are swept back and LED light the front headlights. The revised bumper features a large air intake and fog lamp housing has been restyled as well. On the interior,we can expect a new colour scheme, updated instrument cluster and added dashboard trims.

The current S-Cross is powered by the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and the 1.6-litre DDiS 320 engine. The facelifted S-Cross is expected to feature the 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine or the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol mill. While the 1.0-litre petrol unit is expected to churn out 109bhp and 170Nm of torque, the turbocharged 1.4-litre unit is punch out 138bhp and 220Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre diesel unit produces 118bhp and 320Nm of torque.

2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift

One of the first hatchbacks in India, the Maruti Swift changed the dynamics of the small cars in the country. Currently selling in the top 5 cars in India, the Swift needs a much-required facelift. However, Suzuki has unveiled the next-generation Swift in Japan and changes are seen in the overall design of the hatchback.

The next-generation Swift hatchback sits on the Baleno platform making it much lighter than the outgoing model. The new Swift is sharper and angular in its design, despite the changes, the Swift design cues are very evident. The new Swift features a new large front grille, sharper headlamps with LED daytime running lights and the air intake is much larger. On the side, along with the A- and B-pillar, the C-pillar has been blackened. On the rear profile, the new Swift features a new roof spoiler, revised bumper and angular taillights.

The interiors are all-new with the three spoke multifunctional flat bottom steering wheel, dual pod instrument cluster with digital MID, circular AC vents, and the contrast fabric stitched cabin with improved seats and upholstery material. The current Swift is powered by 1.2-litre petrol mill and the 1.3-litre diesel unit, the new Swift will get the 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine as well.
