Upcoming AMT Cars In India — Time To Go Clutch Free

Tired of traffic jams and the numerous times of shifting gears in the city? Well, going clutch free is one of the solutions for a convenient drive.

India is on the cusp of embracing the automatic gear in their cars and car manufacturers are responding to the call with economical, efficient, and simple option of the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on their range of cars.

Here are the upcoming AMT cars in India.

Renault Lodgy AMT

Renault has made inroads with the Kwid and has reaped benefits from it. The French car maker is providing the AMT on its compact SUV, the Duster.

Named as 'Easy-R' by Renault, the technology was developed with the assistance from the F1 team of the Renault. Now, the AMT will be offered in its MPV, the Lodgy, since most of the MPV in India come with the option of an AMT.

Renault Kwid AMT

The Renault Kwid has impressed one and all in India with its array of features with an economical pricing. Recently, the 1.0-litre Kwid has been launched with a competitive pricing in the market.

Renault will take the Kwid to the next level of offering an AMT with it, most of the 1.0-litre segment or its rival are providing the AMT version. Kwid is will go AMT and will add to the range of Renault cars with AMT.

Datsun Redi-GO AMT

At the budget segment, the Datsun RediGo has been launched with lower pricing among its rivals. Datsun has seen some success with the RediGO and will add the AMT variant to the RediGO.

Datsun might offer the AMT in the 800cc engine variant and which could put the Japanese maker with the first to offer AMT in the 800cc segment.

Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT

The runaway hit for Maruti Suzuki was showcased in the recently held Indonesia's auto expo with the AMT variant. This could make its way to India this year.

Maruti launched only the diesel model in the Brezza and we expect the AMT and petrol variant's launch is imminent. Maruti was the first to bring the technology of AMT through its small hatchback, the Celerio which kick-started the AMT trend in the country.

Tata Tiago AMT

Finding your mojo back is an uphill climb, however, Tata Motors has come out flying colours with the Tiago launch. The design is great, features are impressive and the pricing making the Tiago a good buy.

Powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel unit, the Tiago has been appreciated by many and an AMT is imminent to increase its popularity among buyers in the country.
