Toyota Teases New Fortuner Ahead Of Launch — It Stares Right At You
Toyota is gearing up to launch the next-generation Fortuner, a best-seller in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has teased the next-generation Fortuner ahead of its official India launch on November 7, 2016. Dealerships have already begun bookings for the new 2016 Fortuner for an amount of Rs 2 lakh.
Much like the Toyota Innova Crysta, the 2016 Fortuner is expected with features such as LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRL), A-TRC Traction Control system.
Also will be seen with Downhill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with sat-nav and reversing camera.
The new 2016 Toyota Fortuner is bold and imposing in its looks and has sharper lines compared to the outgoing model when seen from the front.
Toyota has designed the new Fortuner on several fronts, including the side profile, though it has not lost its bulky SUVish feel.
On the rear profile, the swept back taillamps emphasises the SUV character yet sleek and premium in nature.
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner's powertrains will include the familiar mills seen in the Innova Crysta. This includes the 2.4-litre GD diesel oil burner with 147bhp and 343Nm of peak torque.
The other diesel mill will be the 2.8-litre GD engine and is powerful with 172bhp and 360Nm of torque.
While the 2.4-litre engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the 2.8-litre will be offered with the choice of 6-speed automatic gearbox.
With the recent ban on diesel car ban and then later the ban was removed, Toyota is expected to bring the 2.7-litre petrol four-cylinder engine which was recently equipped in the Innova Crysta.
The top of the line will be offered with the 4WD system and the new Fortuner will rival the likes of Ford Endeavour as the primary competitor.
