2016 Paris Motor Show: Toyota FCV Plus Unveiled
Toyota unveiled its FCV Plus hydrogen fuel cell concept at the Paris Motor Show. This is not only a zero emission vehicle, it is able to produce and provide energy. This eco-friendly machine uses hydrogen fuel contained in its on-board tank and it can also generate electricity from hydrogen stored outside the vehicle. So, it can contribute to society by being an electric source.
Fuel cell stack of this car can be removed and reused as an energy generator. The FCV also have good fuel efficiency because of its advanced aerodynamics that extends to the underside of the vehicle. On the rear wheel and under the front floor there are built-in wireless battery charging panels that allow for intelligent external charging of other vehicles or infrastructure.
On the windscreen and rear window, words and symbols can be displayed to help others recognise the status of the vehicle. The fuel cell stack is placed in between the front wheels and the hydrogen fuel tank is behind the rear seats.
Toyota FCV Plus have an independent in-wheel motor in all four wheels. Because of the downsized drive components and in-wheel motors, the vehicle has both the overall length of a compact car and the interior length of a large sedan.
