Toyota To Produce New Engines In Poland
"We are committed to further strengthen our presence in Europe,” Says TMMP President.

will
invest
around
€150
million
(INR
1100
crores)
in
its
Jelcz-Laskowice
and
Walbrzych
plants
in
Poland.
This
investment
to
produce
two
new
petrol
engines
and
a
hybrid
transaxle.
Company's first operations started in 2002. The new facility will make a first petrol engine, a 1.5-litre unit in February 2017 at Toyota Motor Industries Poland (TMIP), followed by a 2.0-litre unit, two years later.
The facility will be also manufacturing a hybrid transaxle, which will be used on the 1.8-litre ZR engine. This engine powers the Auris and Auris Touring Sports Hybrid cars sold in Europe, as well as on the C-HR. This production will begin in 2018.
Kazunori Masuoka, TMMP President said, "We are committed to further strengthen our presence in Europe. It was, therefore, important for us to diversify our output and develop our petrol engine manufacturing skills, which will help secure our future."
