Toyota Kirloskar Ensures 100 Percent Sanitation In Schools & Villages
Toyota kirloskar, in efforts towards Swachh Bharat, has implemented a unique CSR initiative called A Behavioral Change Demonstration (ABCD). The project is aimed at one of the most concerning problems in the state - open defecation.
The project was started last year, and Toyota has managed to reach out to 102 schools in 88 villages in Karnataka. Toyota has also targeted 40 villages in Karnataka to attain 100 percent sanitation and has achieved that result in 14 villages.
According to a recent report by UNICEF, around half the population of India still defecate in the open. This poses a serious threat to people in the form of health issues and disease.
The project has already been benchmarked by UNICEF and the Education Department for its commendable contribution in raising awareness on this grave issue.
