New Rumors Emerge About The Toyota Supra's Engine Specs
Toyota has been busy working on brand new twin-turbo V6 engine according to reports, and it's rumored it will make its debut in the upcoming Supra.
According to a report from Mag-X, the new engine will be a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6, making it the first V6 motor in Toyota's history.
Mag-X reports Toyota insiders said that the engine, which is currently called by the codename 943F, will be able to produce an excess of 400bhp with up to 440Nm of peak torque.
Although the Supra has always been known for its turbocharged, inline-six 2JZ engine, it's rumored the 943F engine could make its debut in the much-anticipated new Supra.
It was expected that the new Supra, would use a hybrid setup with an electric motor coupled to a BMW six-cylinder engine.
However, Toyota is busy working on a performance engine, and it would make sense if the car would use it to preserve its Japanese heritage.
