Gone are the days when cars with cheap pricing and low-cost features brought money to car manufacturers. Customers have matured and want cars with best of premium features.

Car manufacturers have indeed responded with cars that come with premium features, this has effects of price rise, however, Indian customers are more than willing to shell out money for better features.

Here are the top 10 best-selling cars in terms of value, the list includes cars calculated based on the top end variants price multiplied by the volume sold.

10. Renault Kwid

The small car from the French auto major has taken the auto market by storm with Renault reaping benefits. Renault has featured the Kwid with touch screen infotainment system with MediaNav, BlueTooth, USB and Aux-in.

Some of the features are yet to reach the entry-level small car segment in India. The Renault Kwid is quickly ascending the top 10 selling cars in India and threatening to dislodge the all-time best selling Maruti Alto.

Renault has made Rs. 338 crores on the top variant of the Kwid sold till date.

9. Maruti Alto

Maruti might be facing heat from its rivals in the form of Renault Kwid, however, the Alto is still the best selling car in India. The Maruti Alto might have the best of features, however, it offers an AMT for ease of drive.

Also, Maruti's best after sales service and low cost spares along with resale value makes the Alto a best seller in the country. Maruti made Rs. 510 crore on the top variant of the Alto.

8. Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The Maruti Baleno might be anew product from the auto major, however, it has re-shaped the premium hatchback segment. The Baleno boasts of standard dual front airbags, projector headlamps, automatic gearbox, DRLs, touch screen infotainment, AppleCarPlay and lots more.

What is even more unique is that the Maruti Baleno comes at an affordable pricing with the best of premium features. Maruti made Rs. 530 crore on the top variant of the Baleno till date.

7. Maruti WagonR

Loved by the family, the humble Maruti WagonR is practical with the cabin space and best of handling in city conditions.

The Maruti WagonR comes with the best of storage, music system with USB, optional dual airbags, AMT gearbox, and a good mileage which defines the WagonR.

Maruti has made Rs. 557 crore in the last financial year on the top variant of the WagonR.

6. Maruti Swift

The sales on the Maruti Sales has been facing severe competition within its own sibling, the Baleno. However, the Swift is still seen as the best in the small hatchback segment with its potent diesel variant.

Maruti Swift comes with auto climate control, push button start/stop, keyless entry and the petrol and diesel engines are one of the best in the industry.

Maruti has made Rs. 582 crore on the Swift.

5. Hyundai Elite i20

The premium hatchback from Hyundai, the Elite i20 broke the segment with the best of features like touchscreen audio/video system, auto AC, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, cooled glove box, and a lot more.

Hyundai Elite i20 only needs to have the option of an automatic gearbox, Hyundai will bring the variant soon in the country. Maruti Baleno is eating into its sales, however, in this period, the i20 has done better.

4. Hyundai Grand i10

The Grand i10 from Hyundai has been a consistent selling car from their portfolio. Hyundai has equipped the Grand i10 with the option of dual front airbags, ABS, reverse parking assist, smart key with push start/stop button, electrically adjustable ORVMs and rear SC.

With the kind of features the Grand i10 comes, the Maruti Swift does definitely fall behind. Hyundai cracked Rs. 842 crore on sales of the top variant of the Grand i10.

3. Hyundai Creta

Renault might have brought the first compact SUV to India in the form of Duster, however, the Hyundai Creta which stole the show and is still the best-selling compact SUV.

Maruti has brought the Vitara Brezza and it has been breaking sales record for Maruti, however, the Creta has one of the best features in the segment.

The premium features of the Hyundai Creta list seems to be a long one, be it touchscreen infotainment system, fully automatic climate control, rear AC, six airbags, hill climb control, follow me headlamps, rear parking assist, and a lot more.

Hyundai made Rs. 952 crore on the Creta.

2. Maruti Swift Dzire

There have been many sub-four-metre compact sedans which have hit the market, but none like the Maruti Swift Dzire which has been the leader in the segment for some time now.

Maruti Swift Dzire boasts of features like engine push start/stop button, BlueTooth audio system, reverse parking sensor, ABS, auto AC, and comes with anautomatic gearbox as an option.

Maruti has made Rs. 1,103 crore from the top variant of the Swift Dzire.

1. Toyota Innova

The Innova known for its premium image continues to rule the roost as the top selling car in terms of value. Toyota has recently launched the Next-Gen Innova Crysta which boasts of best of premium features.

Toyota made Rs. 1,449 crore from the top variant of the Innova. Some of the commendable premium features of the Innova Crysta are automatic LED projector headlamps, welcome puddle lamps, ambient LED illumination, premium leather seats, rear AC with digital display, foldable seat back table with cup holder, 7 airbags, hill-start assist control, ABS, vehicle stability control, 6-speed sequential automatic gearbox and lots more.
