Tesla Model S Crashes Into A Gym; Driver, Telsa Blame Each Other
In yet another weird accident involving a Tesla, a Model S apparently accelerated on its own and crashed into the front door of a gym in Lighthouse Point, Florida.
The crash which occurred on August 9, was captured on camera by CCTV.
Images of the crash put up on the net by Electrek show the Model S moving slowly as the driver tries to park, before violently blasting forward into the door of the gym.
Thankfully no one was injured in the crash, but it could have been a different story as a person had just walked into the gym a few minutes before.
The husband of the woman at the wheel of the crashed Tesla who currently owns one Model S P85D and one P90D blamed the car for the crash.
In a post on Tesla's forums which has since been deleted, he claimed that the Model S "violently exploded into full acceleration and could have easily killed people in the gym."
When Electrek reached out to Tesla about the accident, the American electric carmaker stated that it had reviewed the computer logs from the crash and it showed that the accelerator pedal was pressed at the time of the accident.
However, the way Tesla responded to the crash has not gone down well with the lady's husband.
He went on to state, "I am amazed and wildly disappointed by the way Tesla has handled this and their complete unwillingness to even talk to me about it. Of course, they immediately blamed it on the driver and claimed their online computer tells them that."
He continued, admitting that a driver error is possible in cases such as this but claimed that it wasn't the issue in his wife's case.
"Of course, it is possible that there could have been driver error, but we do not feel that is what has occurred and wanted to have it looked further into."
Talk about a devoted husband.
