Tata Tiago — The New Best Selling Car For Tata Motors
Tata Motors has sold 4,205 units of the Tiago for the month of June 2016 and becoming the best-selling car for the auto major in the last two years.
The Tata Tiago's design and features are the talking point which has helped it garner a better response in terms of sales. The petrol variant has been one of the key drivers for the sales.
Tata Nano was the last vehicle to register 4000 units of sales, which was back in March 2014. The 4000 plus units sales might not be significant but considering the low sales Tata Motors has been witnessing in the recent past, this sales figures does help Tata Motors with the future.
Tata has gone back to its drawing board to work on its designing aspect and the Tiago is an outcome. Tata is definitely getting it right in terms of the whole package.
The Tata Tiago is powered with a choice of 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque, as for the diesel unit, it develops 69bhp and 140Nm of torque.
Both the mills are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the AMT is expected to be launched soon. Also, the sedan version of the Tiago codenamed Kite 5 has been spotted testing for a while now, and that could be launched later this year.
