Tata Tiago Registers Over One Lakh Inquiries Within Weeks
The Tiago hatchback by Tata Motors was launched in India on April 6, 2016. Since then the model has attracted the attention of several vehicle buyers across the country. Now according to Tata Motors, their dealerships have registered over one lakh inquiries within a matter of weeks.
In terms of pricing, Tata Motors has priced the Tiago exceptionally well. The petrol base variant costs Rs. 3.20 lakh and the diesel base model is priced at Rs. 3.95 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Unfortunately, Tata Motors has not revealed how many inquiries have been converted into purchases.
Both petrol and diesel engine options are available in the Tiago. Tata Motors has equipped both engines with a five-speed manual transmission. So far, the Indian manufacturer has no plans of introducing an optional AMT system in its all-new hatchback.
Tata Motors is banking heavily on its Tiago to be successful in the domestic market. It does not want to replicate the story that its Bolt and Zest models witnessed. So far, competitive pricing and an all-new design language seems to be working in favor of the Tiago.
We will have to wait and see for a month how the Tiago fairs in regards to sales. Recently, Tata Motors has cited issues over maintaining the introductory pricing that the Tiago was launched with.
