New Buses Delivered To Karnataka RTC By Tata Motors

Tata Motors delivers 241 new buses to the Karnataka RTC under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri. Siddaramaiah and the Transport Minister of Karnataka Ramalinga Reddy, along with Tata Motors officials, today flagged off 241 Tata Motors buses.

The new Tata buses are equipped with the latest Tata Cummins ISBe engines, air suspension, multiplex wiring, meeting the Urban Bus specification II given by Government of India.

The exterior of the bus is designed on a raised platform of 700 mm, which provides a good leg room to ensure the passenger comfort. The buses will also feature an ergonomically designed driver's seat with 4-ways adjustable mechanism, and a wide-angle windshield for maximum visibility.

The features that make the bus bespoke are the automatic vehicle location system, ITS (Intelligent Transport System), Security network system, Vehicle health monitoring and diagnostics. Tata has also equipped the buses with GPRS connectivity and smart ticketing options.

Currently, there are more than 13000 Tata buses operating in Karnataka.
