Tata Motors Strike Gold In South Africa — Bags Massive Order
Johannesburg-based vehicle hiring company called Tempest Car Hire has partnered with Indian carmaker Tata Motors and has added a fleet of Tata Bolt hatchbacks to the company's car rental fleet.
According to reports, the Tata Bolt has recently been launched in South Africa. Tempest will offer the Bolt for rent with 100 kilometres free per day.
Kyri Michael, the CEO of Accordian Investments, which markets and distributes Tata cars and light commercial vehicles in South Africa said, "We are very pleased to have secured the order from Tata Motors.
The new fleet of Tata Bolts will mean that many renters countrywide will now have the opportunity to experience the quality and benefits offered in our newest car range, which is particularly well equipped for an entry level model."
The Tata Bolt is sold with features like Bluetooth connectivity and a touchscreen infotainment system. These features have made the hatchback popular among the youth in South Africa.
Powering the Tata Bolt is choice of eithr a petrol or diesel engine. The petrol units is a 1.2-litre engine that makes 89bhp and 140Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The diesel engine is a 1.2-litre unit that produces 74bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine too is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and returns a mileage of 22.95km/l.
