Suzuki Motor Corporation has launched the new iterations of the Solio and Solio Bandit compact cars in the Japanese market. These cars are equipped with the newly developed hybrid system.

Suzuki states that the cars will deliver a mileage of 32km/l. The newly developed hybrid system is based on the Suzuki's parallel hybrid system.

The parallel hybrid system combines a Motor Generator Unit (MGU) to an Auto Gear Shift (AGS). MGU is a small driving motor which packs big amount of energy.

AGS is a lightweight, compact and reliable transmission. Combining both the units will deliver smooth acceleration by complementing with MGU's power while changing gears.

The new hybrid system offers two driving modes - Normal Mode and Eco Mode. This allows the driver to select between two modes depending on the driving conditions.
