Suzuki Recalls 1.6 Million Cars In Japan Due To Faulty AC
Japanese carmaker Suzuki Motor Corporation has recalled over 1,616,125 cars in Japan to fix an air conditioning fault that can lead to the engines stalling.
Suzuki have stated that the issue occurs due to a a lack of oil necessary for lubrication in some of its cars' air conditioner compressors. The lack of oil can lead to the overheating and eventual failure of the AC which in turn can lead to the stalling of cars.
Out of the over 1.6 million cars recalled, 1.3 million are actual Suzuki cars while the rest of the cars were made for Mazda and Nissan. Five models made by Suzuki have been recalled including the Wagon R.
Suzuki states that more than 240 cases of engines stalling have been reported as a result of a lack of lubricant since December 2011. However, the carmaker has said that there have been no deaths or injuries reported due to the issue.
