Subaru To Launch An All-Electric Crossover By 2021

Subaru, the leading Japanese car manufacturer is planning to make an all-electric Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV). The Electric CUV is expected to make its market debut by 2021.

The company sells the Impreza Sports Hybrid in Japan and Crosstrek hybrid in the US. Subaru has been more promoting environment-friendly cars.

According to a report in the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper in Japan, the Subaru will introduce a midsize, AWD all-electric CUV in the US. This vehicle would be based on the Subaru Forester or Outback and will use a new global platform.

There is no information about the batteries, cells, or the motor yet.

Due to tighter emission regulations, the company is pushing the entire industry to zero-emission vehicles. Subaru is taking the same approach to all-electric vehicles as it did with the hybrids.
