State Transports Orders Buses From Tata Motors For Better Public Transportation

Across the country, Tata Motors has received orders for over 5,000 buses from State/ City Transport Undertakings (STU). Compared to last year, this portrays Tata Motors' healthy growth of over 80 percent.

Tata Motors is always looking forward when it comes to technology and that is exactly what various STU/ City Transport providers need. Mainly some of the orders are for a fully IT enabled bus, to ensure trackability and traceability.


The fully loaded Tata buses include GPS enabled On-Board ITS (Intelligent Transport System), Public information systems, via electronic destination boards, CCTV cameras, On-Board WiFi, Smart multi-mode ticketing, and On-board diagnostics systems.

Other features include Air-conditioning/heating (HVAC), Air-suspension systems, Lower NVH Systems (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), Automatic gearbox, adoption of Bus Body code practices, wide passage-ways, wider window panes and lower entry/ exit doors are to ensure better passenger comfort & safety.


At Tata Motors' Joint Venture manufacturing facility at Tata Marco Polo (Dharwad & Lucknow) and ACGL Goa, more than 1500 of the ordered buses will be built with all the features mentioned above.

As the country's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors has also developed Electric Hybrid buses and Articulated Buses for future transport.
