Mahindra Looking To Launch Ssangyong Tivoli In India By 2017; Spied Testing
Mahindra & Mahindra has several automobile brands under its wings. Amongst them is Ssangyong, which was introduced in the Indian market a while ago. Unfortunately, we got to see just one product from them in the form of their Rexton, which was launched as a premium SUV.
At the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, Mahindra showcased to all, another new offering from the Korean-based manufacturer. Ssangyong Tivoli compact SUV was unveiled to the general public. The Tivoli is most likely to be introduced in India by Mahindra as their premium compact SUV offering.
Recently, the Ssangyong Tivoli was caught testing on Indian roads. This means that the automobile manufacturer is gearing up for the compact SUV's launch. So far, Mahindra has not made an official launch date announcement, however, we expect it to be soon.
Under the hood of Ssangyong Tivoli will be a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine option. Both engines will be mated to an optional 6-speed Automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mahindra is likely to locally manufacture both engines to keep costs in check.
Once launched in India the Ssangyong Tivoli will compete with several other compact SUVs. The Tivoli will rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, and the Honda BR-V.
