SsangYong To Launch Its First electric SUV By 2019
SsangYong is planning to enter the electric vehicle market. Sources suggest that the Korean carmaker is working on an all-electric crossover model.
Six years ago, the South Korean automaker was on the verge of bankruptcy, but Mahindra & Mahindra came to the rescue.
Now that Mahindra & Mahindra has a controlling stake in Pininfarina, there are some hopes that SsangYong's new crossover will adopt better design compared to the previous generations.
The new crossover, codenamed C300 is expected to appear in the international markets sometime in 2017, with the full-electric variant scheduled for a 2019 global unveil.
The C300 is expected to slot between the current generation Tivoli and the Tivoli XLV. SsangYong had showcased the standard Tivoli at the Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year.
