Skoda Rapid Facelift Launching In India By Mid-2016

Skoda India will be providing its Rapid sedan with a much-awaited facelift for 2016. The Rapid sedan is the bestseller for the Czech manufacturer in the Indian market. Now an updated version of the Rapid will be introduced in India sometime during mid-2016.

The Czech manufacturer is betting high on the increase in demand for their products. During 2015, Skoda India witnessed a growth of just four percent and are expecting more out of 2016. Skoda India has set a goal for itself to achieve over ten percent sale in the current year.

The new Rapid by Skoda will continue to be manufactured at their facility in Chakan, Pune. Several of their other products will also be locally produced to maximise profits in the Indian market. The new Rapid is expected to be a top-seller for Skoda India.

No mechanical changes will provided to the engine options offered in the Rapid. The sedan will continue being powered by a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol engine option. Skoda offers both engines with a 5-speed manual gearbox. An optional 7-speed automatic with the petrol and a 6-speed automatic transmission is available with the diesel engine.

Several new additions will be added to the 2016 Rapid by Skoda engineers. Recently, the Czech manufacturer launched the all-new Superb in India. Skoda India plans on introducing several new and interesting products in the country over the next few months.
