Skoda Rapid To Receive Facelift: Launch This August?

The Skoda Rapid was one of the best selling models for the carmaker in India. The design of the car is more or less the same since it was launched, apart from a few changes. It is now time for the Skoda Rapid to undergo the latest design language the other cars in the lineup have gone through.

Once given the much needed facelift, we can expect the launch of the Rapid to take place in August this year. Major changes will be in terms of the car getting a sleeker headlight and a sportier grille. The rear of the car may not recieve major changes.

The same goes with the engine as well. The Skoda Rapid will continue to use the same petrol and diesel engines that currently power the car. The petrol motor is a 1.6-litre unit that develops 104bhp and 153Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is a 1.5-litre powerhouse that develops 104bhp and 250Nm of torque.There are chances of the engines getting tweaked a little.

Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic. So when will India see the new face of the Skoda Rapid? Hopefully in August.
