Skoda is launching a new connectivity for online infotainment for information and navigation, car connect, and remote vehicle access
Skoda will offer a new connectivity feature alongside the launch of the Kodiaq SUV. The new connectivity feature provides mobile online services under the label of Skoda Connect.
The new feature is divided into two categories, the Infotainment Online services will provide information and aid navigation, while the Care Connect will provide assistance and remote access to the car.
Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing said that from now on Skoda Kodiaq drivers are fully connected to their car and if desired to the world of Skoda.
He added that with the Skoda Connect they are making digital world accessible to the customers which will make their driving experience even more comfortable and safe.
The Infotainment Online services are equipped with Amundsen or Columbus navigation systems and the one standout feature is the online traffic information. The traffic information displays the current traffic flow on selected route and suggests sensible alternative routes in thecase oftraffic jams.
As for the Care Connect services, this is divided into Proactive Services and Remote Vehicle access. This will be standard on the Skoda Kodiaq from the Ambition variant onwards. The important function is the Emergency call which is automatically activated in case of a collision.
The driver or the passengers can activate this option manually as well through a button in the roof module. Part of the Proactive Services is the service scheduling where the owner is contacted by the dealer before the vehicle's service is due.
The Remote Vehicle Access which can be accessed via the Skoda Connect app through the user's' smartphone. This informs the customers about the status of the lights and the fuel tank of the Skoda Kodiaq also, provides information if the doors are opened or closed.
The Parking position function reveals where the vehicle is parked, while the Honk & Flash function allows the driver to find the car by activating the horn and indicator.
