Sebastian Vettel Rules Out Replacing Rosberg At Mercedes
Sebastian Vettel has ruled out rumours that he could join Mercedes-AMG Petronas team during 2017. Vettel is not interested in taking Nico Rosberg’s place.
Sebastian Vettel was recently being touted as Nico Rosberg's replacement at Mercedes-AMG. However, Vettel has ruled out the possibility of joining Mercedes-AMG for 2017 season. The German driver is confident that Ferrari will be competitive in the upcoming Championship.
Vettel and Raikkonen are contracted to drive for Scuderia Ferrari til the end of 2017 season. The duo is confident that the Italian-based manufacturer will be competitive next year. Both drivers are committed to improving Scuderia Ferrari's position in Formula One Championship.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas team have made it clear that they too are in no hurry announcing Nico Rosberg's replacement. Team officials have confirmed that they are not ruling out Pascal Wehrlein out as well. Even Fernando Alonso is considered as a possible Rosberg replacement.
Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he would have no decision-making ability in this process. He is ready to have anyone as a teammate for 2017 Formula One Championship. Hamilton lost the 2016 F1 title by just five points and will be eager to regain his crown next year.
It is important to note that whomsoever joins Mercedes-AMG Petronas will have a Championship winning machine. Expectations will be high from the newly appointed driver. Also, Mercedes-AMG cannot put all of its hopes on a single driver as well and would like to have two drivers who could potentially win the Championship.
