Renault-Nissan Alliance Plant in India Produces One Millionth Vehicle
Renault-Nissan's Alliance plant in Oragadam near Chennai, India has rolled out its one millionth vehicle. The one millionth vehicle is a Micra hatchback, which rolled off the line at 12:15 hrs. on Friday, January 8, 2016.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance production facility is the largest in the world and operation started in March 2010 with an initial investment of INR 45 billion. The plant over the years has introduced 32 new Renault, Nissan and Datsun models and derivatives to its production line. On average, the production plant has managed to launch two new models each year across three brands since 2010.
The production plant is currently India's second largest car exporter with more than 600,000 units shipped to 106 countries since 2010. The plant currently caters to both domestic and international markets.
The plant also contributes to the local economy and accounts for 12,000 direct jobs in Tamil Nadu, with a further 40,000 in the Indian supplier chain.
