Renault India To Launch Two Special Edition Models By 2017
Renault India showcased two special edition models at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Both special edition models were based on the company's affordable hatchback, the Kwid. They were called the Kwid Climber and the Kwid Racer.
There is a high possibility that one of the two special edition models could be launched as early as 2017. An official date has not yet been confirmed by Renault India officials. Both, the Kwid Climber and Racer is expected to bear special pricing and will be a limited number run.
The Kwid Climber is a more rugged and off-road like machine. It gets higher ground clearance with off-road tyres and a design language that is similar to popular urban crossover models.
The Kwid Racer, on the other hand is a more track-focused street legal machine, unlike its sibling. It has a low-profile stance, wide bumpers, and also a skirt kit will be featured. The overall the persona of the Renault Kwid Racer will be that of a track day tool.
Both, the Kwid Climber and Kwid Racer will receive the new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine from Renault India. Expect the engines to be tuned for their intended use. Renault will be equipping both the models with a 5-speed manual transmission.
