Renault Kaptur SUV Imported To India For R&D Purpose
According to reports, Renault has imported the Kaptur to India. The Renault Kaptur has been imported to the country from Russia. So far, the vehicle is in pre-production avatar and uses the codename HHA.
In terms of design, the Kaptur is similar to the Renault Captur model. Styling cues separate both models from each other. The Kaptur will be developed for emerging markets and is most likely to use several parts and components from existing models.
Under the hood of the Renault Kaptur is a 1.6-litre petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 113bhp, along with 156Nm of peak torque output. Renault engineers have mated the engine to a five-speed manual transmission.
Renault will use the Duster MO platform for their upcoming Kaptur model. The French-based automobile manufacturer will compete in the Indian market with Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano. A diesel engine option will also be on offer for India in the Kaptur.
