Renault F1 Team Announce Their Second Driver For 2017 F1 Championship
Jolyon Palmer has been confirmed as Nico Hulkenberg’s teammate for 2017 Formula One Championship by Renault F1 Team. This means Kevin Magnussen has to find another team for 2017 season.
Renault F1 Team has now confirmed its driver for their second machine. Jolyon Palmer has been retained on a one-year extension. This means Kevin Magnussen could be left without a Formula One drive for 2017 Championship.
Jolyon Palmer experienced a horrible season in his rookie year. Both Renault and Palmer seemed to have underperformed during the 2016 F1 Championship. However, he has done enough to impress Renault officials to secure a Formula One seat for the upcoming season.
Previously, Renault F1 Team had confirmed that Nico Hulkenberg will be part of their 2017 project. It was surprising that Renault opted to choose an all-new driver prior to selecting their current drivers. Hulkenberg and Palmer will have to take up the task of directing Renault to point finishes.
Kevin Magnussen recently confirmed that he has spoken with Haas Racing about his future. There is a strong possibility that the Danish driver could join the American-based team. Haas Racing and Magnussen could be a lethal combination with Romain Grosjean as his teammate.
The changes amongst drivers and teams have still not come to an end. Several announcements are expected at the Brazilian GP this weekend. Majority of the teams have decided to announce their final decisions prior to the Formula One 2016 season coming to an end.
