Volkswagen's luxury brand Audi has announced a top management change in India with the appointment of Rahil Ansari as head of the operations in the country. He replaces Joe King and will take charge from February 1, 2017.

The incumbent Joe King will return to Audi AG headquarters in Germany as he has been assigned to take a new role there. Ansari currently works at the German headquarters and has previously served as director of network development for Audi India.

Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd commented, "We are pleased to announce the new Head for Audi in India, Rahil Ansari. He has previously served as Director of Network Development for Audi India and thus brings appreciation for this market."

Lespiaucq added, "His diverse global experience combined with the understanding of the Indian market will help in consolidating the brand presence."

The company said, "He moves to Audi India from AUDI AG, where he heads the global pricing for Audi Genuine Parts for AUDI AG Aftersales."

The current product lineup of Audi in India includes luxury sedans Audi A3, Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 along with luxury SUVs Q3, Q5 and Q7, among others.
