Race Of Champions To Debut In US Next Year
The Race of Champions (ROC) is a motorsport event where drivers from all forms of motorsport go head-to-head in specially designed asphalt track. ROC will be held in US for the very first time. The event takes place at Miami's Marlins Park, from 21-22 January, 2017.
Drivers from Formula One, IndyCar, NASCAR, LeMans, World Rally Championship, MotoGP, Global Rallycross and more are invited to this event. Different kind of vehicles will be used for different events. But same vehicles will be used for each individual race, which comes down to drivers skill to win the race.
On the first day of event, ROC takes place with each driver, going head-to-head in identical vehicles, and the fastest drivers move forward. Then on second day, drivers will compete as a team, representing their home country.
Sebastian Vettel, four time Formula One champion, will be defending his 2015 ROC title. Other notable drivers such as, former IndyCar champion, Ryan Hunter-Reay and NASCAR driver Kurt Busch are confirmed to take part in the event.
