Production Ready VW Ameo To Sport New Front End
The recently showcased sub-4meter sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Volkswagen Ameo, could sport a new front end. The sedan is expected to be launched in India during the festival season by the year end.
The car will be launched with the headlamp seen in the Vento facelift showcased at the Auto Expo. The most prominent change is the LED components and more chrome details on the front fascia.
All of the interior, including features and the upholstery showcased on the Ameo, will remain the same.

The showcased Ameo had similarity to the VW Polo front fascia, however, this could be changed considering all of its range have been in the upgrade trend.
The new car will come with first-in-segment Rain sensing wipers and cruise control, apart from these, the sedan will sport auto dimming IVRM (Inside Rear View Mirrors), AC outlet for the rear passengers, and a lot more features.
Volkswagen will launch the Ameo with 1.2litre 3-cylinder petrol and 1.3litre 4-cylinder diesel, which will push out 104bhp and 89bhp respectively. All of these are mated to a 5-speed and an automatic gearbox will be an option.
The car will be pitted against the market leader Maruti Dzire, the Hyundai's Xcent, and the Honda Amaze. All ears will be on the pricing of the Ameo and this will set the tone for the sales of the sub-4-meter sedan.
Prices are expected to be competitive, considering the large number of Maruti Dzire being sold in the market. Volkswagen would want to be careful in the prices as this segment has seen a whole lot of offerings.
