Porsche Suspends Sponsorship Of Maria Sharapova

German sports car maker Porsche has suspended its sponsorship of Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova after she admitted to failing a doping test.

Sharapaova had admitted at a press conference in Los Angeles that she tested positive for meldonium, which was added on to the list of banned substances in January, Sharapova stated that she had been using the drug for over 10 years to for health issues.

Porsche have decided to cut ties with the 28-year old Russian until more details are relased. Porsche had signed Maria Sharapova as their first ever female brand ambassador in 2014.

Porsche released the following statement about the news of Sharapova's failed doping test stating, "We regret the current news about Maria Sharapova. Until further details emerge and we are able to analyze the situation, we have decided to suspend planned activities."
