Video: Porsche Panamera Breaks Nurburgring Lap Record

Porsche, the Stuttgart carmaker synonymous with fast cars, unveiled the second generation of the Panamera in Berlin on June 28. Now, the German carmaker has released footage of its four-door sedan living up to its boast of being the fastest sedan in the world.

The top spec Panamera Turbo uses a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 542bhp and 770Nm of torque. The Turbo sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds and can hit a top speed of 306km/h.

With those maniacal figures it was no surprise that the Panamera Turbo lapped the Green Hell that is the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just 7m.38s, two seconds faster than the original Bugatti Veyron lapped the infamous German racetrack.
